While being off of school for the day, I was able to get a tour and visit Kutztown University. This college visit was the shortest of all three of my visits. The college is located in Kutztown, which is 20 minutes away from Hamburg. The wake up was not as bad as Mansfield, but the wake-up was still early. The college campus is larger than the Mansfield Campus, with many more buildings and other different classes and majors, like any kind of computer science class or even developing games, available due to size. The campus was beautiful, and it was clear that the school is great on their school spirit.
The first thing that happened during this visit was the presentation. Due to the school being such a bigger school physically than Mansfield, Kutztown requires more money and more information in the application. This college is known for being the most common college for Hamburg students to go to since the college is close by. Like Mansfield, they talked about the application process, the class size ratio, and even the clubs offered by the students.
The college then sent us on our college tour. First, we were able to see the theatre and the creativity classes. Then, we were able to see each of the classrooms and learn about the activities that each of the majors involve themselves in. During these tours, the professors for the English major gave out their own published articles called The Shoofly. On top of this, we were able to see the college dorms and see how the college worked. Campus housing is only available for people who live 40 miles away from the college. Students who come from Hamburg will be expected to drive to the college and will not be able to get housing in Kutztown. After the tour, we were left with nothing left to do, and our tour guide sent us home.
Kutztown is a great choice for people who want to find a college close enough to home where they can come home at any point. If a person is interested in putting more research into Kutztown, visit, https://www.kutztown.edu/.
