On April 14, the Hamburg Area High School students were a part of a progressive orchestra concert with grades three through 12. The concert was a progressive concert with the theme of Space, all the songs fitting the theme. In the beginning, there was a video presentation with students telling a little bit more about their experiences being in Orchestra.
The high school orchestra played a total of three songs: Allegro, Space Oddity, and a full orchestra version of HS Star Wars. The Chamber Strings Ensemble also performed and played only two songs, Interstellar Dreams and Shallow.
A freshman who performed at the concert, Kylie Werley, stated her favorite music piece is “Star Wars because it was the song that the full orchestra played together. She also stated, “We should have stayed together more; we were not together much.” Rileyanne Fisher, a freshman who played in the concert, stated, “I think Star Wars could have gone much better if there were more practices where the orchestra was together.”
The overall feeling of the concert was good, but multiple students stated they wished there were more practice with the full orchestra.
