The Masters were held the second weekend of April in Augusta, Georgia. This is one of the four main golf major championships that occur in golf. This is the first major of the season, with the others to follow. The Masters have been played for 92 years and have been one of the most attended golf tournaments.
During the week there are very many activities leading up to the start of the tournament and concluding it. There is a champions dinner on Tuesday night, a Par Three Contest, pre ceremony, the tournament, and closing jacket ceremony. The champion dinner is for all past golfers who won The Masters. The Par Three contest where the players’ families can get involved and spend time playing and have fun together. Many players’ wives are their caddies during that day. The jacket ceremony happens after the game has ended where the winner receives a green jacket.
In years past, golf legends Tiger Woods and Scottie Scheffler, and Rory Mcilroy won the Masters two or more times. They have also won multiple other golf major tournaments as well. This year there was a repeat winner from last year, as Rory took home the win.
On the last day, it was very hard to judge who may win as Rory was tied going into the last day. Throughout there were multiple leaders including Justin Rose, Cameron Young, and Russel Henley, but ultimately Rory was the winner. The last round of golf was over and Rory won, he was greeted by his wife Erika, daughter Poppy, and his parents, who all traveled over from Ireland where they are from. Now that the Masters are over, the talk is who will win the upcoming other four main major tournaments as it could be any golfer.
