The Student Fellowship club is a new club this year., run by Mrs. Argot, Mrs. Hardick, and Mr. Saunders. The club was started by Elizabeth Grim and Sophia Garretson, who wanted a space to share positivity throughout the community.
They wanted to visit the residents at the Laurel Center Nursing Home on Valentine’s Day to deliver cards with positive messages. They include Bible verses and positive quotes. Many people smiled and enjoyed receiving the cards.
Sophia came to Mrs. Jackson, one of the advisors for Tri-M, the Modern Music Masters Honors society, and wanted to see if any member of Tri-M wanted to help out with their cause. The students of the Tri-M club were more than happy to help. In total, they all made over 130 cards and visited the nursing home. Members of Tri-M were able to use the card-making and visiting as a part of their mandatory six hours of community service if they wanted.
Elizabeth Grim says, “We hope to do more outreach events like this in the future!” This was not the first time Tri-M had a “Club Colab,” and it will certainly not be the last. It was a huge success; both clubs brought positivity to the community.
The Student Fellowship club is inviting anyone who would like to join to come to their meetings on Club Day A.
