Even though the third quarter is just beginning to end, many people are already starting to plan for the next school year. Drama Club is part of that group, especially since they have the fall musical that begins rehearsals right at the beginning of the school year. Junior Landon Poulios states, “We are all excited because the musical gets announced Friday March 27 at the Drama Revue which is coming up very quickly.” After the musical gets announced, planning begins immediately with auditions normally happening in May, and the preparation for prop design, lights, costumes, etc. “It is an exciting time for everyone but I am especially excited since this will be my fifth and final musical production!” Landon says.
After the fall musical is announced, Drama Club also will incorporate that theme into their stand at May Day which is always fun and creative. They also hold a summer theatre intensive that is collaborative with Tulpehocken that allows for aspiring actors and actresses to learn new techniques and other useful skills for theatre. This allows them to be prepared for the musical that is to follow only a few short months after the fact.
Drama club is very excited for next year and club advisor Mr. Nate Rothermel is exploring new ideas and events that will be announced in due time.
