AI is everywhere, in a driver’s car to in a homeowner’s fridge, but almost all students K-12 use AI on a daily basis. Using AI is increasing at a rapid pace for schools, promoting serious concerns about how much students are actually learning in school. One of the many negatives about using AI in classrooms experts say it actually hurts student’s ability with growing relationships with older peers like teachers and even parents.
A lot of teachers and parents always say the negatives about AI, but there are some positives like AI can inspire students to give them ideas about projects and essays. Another way is AI apps like ChatGPT can make study guides for students of all ages to study for tests. There are many amazing things about AI that students can use for studies. Students just have to make sure they do not abuse the power of AI by cheating on essays, tests, or projects.
The risk of getting caught using AI is also increasing with teachers and administrators using “AI catchers” if they suspect a student using AI on a project or test. If AI users do get caught using it during something important like a test or even a work project they could fail the course, get a zero, get fired, and even get kicked out of college courses, still having to pay the amount the course is even without taking it.
