Stardew Valley is a fun RPG farming game created by Eric Barone, also known as ConcernedApe. The game is perfect for people of all age groups and can be played alone or with friends locally or online. Stardew Valley is different from other games. It is full of many rewards for players the longer they play on their file, as well as giving players full choice to decide what professions they want to advance in. The game also subtly encourages players to progress through it slowly, all without an overwhelming amount of story or plot.
The game also features friendship levels with the townsfolk, in which the player must give them different gifts to determine what they love and what they hate. Each townsfolk has their own personality, schedules, and loved gifts. Most importantly, each character has these things called “heart events.” Friendship levels are shown with hearts in the game’s menu, and when the player reaches certain levels with someone, a heart event occurs. These events could range from letters in the mail to stumbling across them at a specific location at a specific time of day and year.
Another unique feature of the game is that farming does not have to be the player’s main source of income. There are a variety of other ways to make money in Stardew Valley, like fishing, foraging, mining, and even fighting monsters. Although farming is a required skill for most events, it is possible to never farm again past year one.
And finally, the best part of the game. The player can play a file indefinitely; the years on the file can continue to go up forever, with no real limit. Some want to continue playing a game like Stardew Valley for a long time, to either explore all of what the game has to offer or to reach perfection on their file. Perfection is the game’s unique way of a hundred percenting the game. It requires big tasks like cooking every recipe at least once, crafting each of the game’s possible crafting recipes at least once, catching all fish, and many more.
In conclusion, Stardew Valley offers many different playstyles and caters to many age groups. Eric Barone put a lot of effort into the game throughout its lifetime. As of February 26, this year, Stardew Valley will officially be 10 years old! But if the game sounds interesting, it is available on all devices: PC, Xbox, PlayStation, iPhones, Androids, and Nintendo Switch 1/2!
