Summer Walker’s newest album, Finally Over It, is an album that focuses on healing, growth, and finally finding peace after going through terrible relationships. It is the third and final album in Summer Walker’s Over It trilogy. The album is separated into two different parts, for better and for worse. The first part of the album, for better, starts off with the intro song Scars. This song is the perfect introduction to this album. It is short but still gives a good preview of what is to come within the album. The for better half of the album has features from popular artists such as Chris Brown, Bryson Tiller, Mariah The Scientist, and Doja Cat. This part of the album is a lot of what Summer Walker’s original R&B self sounds like which the fans are used to. The second half, for worse, is the more deep cut side of the album. There are still the fun R&B and rap songs but there are a lot of acoustic emotional songs. FMT and Finally Over It I would argue are the most emotional songs on the album. They really embody the emotions of how she feels and makes the listener feel it as well just through the song. A senior, Lily Parr, shared her thoughts on the album. Lily explained that she “really liked the album” and felt it was “worth the wait,” but she also admitted that it took so long for this final album to come out that she felt like she had been listening to the first two albums forever. Overall This was the best comeback that any of Summer Walker’s fans could have asked for.
