On April 4, Dance Point Studio had the opportunity to dance pre-game at a 76ers basketball game. We were able to dance on the court in front of many people. This was not mine or the studio’s first time dancing here, as we have been dancing at these games for many years. In years past we have also been able to dance at a Flyers hockey game as well.
The game started at 7:00, but we danced about a half hour prior. While we were dancing so many people in the audience were able to watch us including family members that also came to the game. Being able to dance and show off all of our hard work in front of so many people is very rewarding. This experience in itself is just as rewarding. We were able to also get to see the University of Penn dance team perform as well after us.
We danced a jazz and hip hop mix to the song “Jock Jams.” This song is a mash up of many pop songs from years past. We danced this dance at our first competition of the year and got a special crowd pleaser award. The audience really enjoyed this dance and was dancing and singing along with us. We brought the same energy we brought to competition at the 76ers. We all had such a great time dancing and really enjoyed the game too, even though they did unfortunately lose.
