Junior Brielle Cox has a full schedule during the school day, but she has a routine that helps her get through it. Her day starts early when she wakes up at 6:55 a.m. to get ready for school. Her first period is Honors Precalculus, which is one of the harder classes. After that she goes to second period Piano I, then third period APUSH, and fourth period AP LANG & COMP. Later in the day she has fifth period Spanish II, sixth period either gym or AP Biology, and seventh period AP Biology. Brielle also has Lunch A every other day, which she says can make some days feel a little easier. Out of all her classes, Brielle says Piano I is probably her favorite. She likes the class because it is more relaxed compared to some of her other classes that have lots of work. She also takes piano with her sister, Alaena Cox, which makes the class more fun. She also said that Spanish II usually does not take too much work, so after finishing her Spanish assignments, she can sometimes use the extra time to work on homework for her other classes.
Another thing that helps is having friends in all of her classes. Especially in her AP classes, having friends around makes the work feel easier because they can help each other if something is confusing. It also makes the classes more enjoyable and makes the time go by faster.
Brielle said that days when she has Lunch A feel a little better too. Since lunch is earlier, she does not have to wait as long to eat. On those days, her last two periods are both AP Biology, so she does not have to switch between different classes. She also likes that there are not that many students in her AP Bio class. Since the class is smaller, it feels like everyone knows each other better and the class feels more connected instead of having lots of different groups.
Even though Brielle has a busy schedule, she says each class has something different about it that helps her get through the day.
