2020 was a crazy year for kids and teens. One day we were at school, the next we were stuck at home because of quarantine. TikTok was huge. Everyone was learning dances, making funny videos, and following trends. I would spend hours learning dances like the Renegade or Say So, sometimes I was not so good at them though, but I did not care. It was also fun FaceTimeing friends and laughing about things that were going on at home. Even though we could not hang out in person, our technology and social media made it feel like we were still together. I am also really happy that from my memory it was very warm outside because I have lots of memories biking around and just playing outside with my dad since there was nothing else to do.
My friend Landon Poulios loved it too. His favorite parts were TikTok, fashion, and seeing everyone’s personalities online. He said he remembers watching lots of movies and just really spending quality time with his family.
Online school was kind of fun too because it made summer feel even longer. Zoom classes were easy to get through, and there was more time to make TikToks, mess around, or just chill in my room. The aesthetic stuff got big too: neon lights, pastel rooms, scrunchies, and cool filters for videos. I was obsessed with the different kinds of aethetics people had. Even though we were stuck at home, 2020 had its fun moments. We made TikToks, shared videos to each other, and found ways to enjoy ourselves. Looking back, it is very nostalgic, I would do anything to get to stay home and have that much fun again.
