As the season of NCAA wrestling begins to climb to the brink of their postseason, The Bryce Jordan Center hosted the Big Ten wrestling championships, home to the winners of Penn State. Each weight class was a tough battle leaving many upsets to college wrestling behind but many were what was expected from fans.
A notable match for the 133 weight class consisted of ranked number three Ben Davino, of Ohio State and Penn State’s number one, Marcus Blaze. It ended in a two to one win from Ben Davino, taking home a Big Ten win. Ohio State’s Jesse Mendez, who ranked in first, also took home a win for Ohio State as he defeated Nebraska’s Brock Hardy.
All though the stats were already aligned, seven Penn State wrestlers took home a win while wrestling in their home arena, making them the Big Ten Wrestling Championship team winners, still leaving them in first place team wise.
This still leaves the National Championships open for wrestling to show what they have and bring home wins to their colleges. For more information visit ncaa.com
