The 2026 Baseball World Classic is officially underway and is in full swing. This is an event held every four years with 20 national teams that participate. Players from teams in the USA and from other countries will play for their team that is native to them or where they have roots. These teams have some of the best players playing for them.
These teams are broken down into four different pools with five teams in each. They begin to play round-robin style in each of their pools and the top two teams in each pool advance to the single elimination round. The pool that has the USA in, also has Mexico, Italy, Great Britain, and Brazil. This pool is a very competitive pool because there are all such great teams playing against each other.
Team USA is packed with amazing players such as Paul Skenes, Aaron Judge, Bobby Witt Junior, and Philadelphia Philly, Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwaber. This is an honor of a lifetime for these players to get to represent where they come from and show off and represent their home teams.
These games are being held around the world including Miami, Florida, Houston, Texas, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Tokyo, Japan, depending on what pool the team has been put in. The championship of the classic will be held on March 17 in Miami. Many hope to see team USA in the final, but Mexico, Italy, and the USA all currently have the second record so one team needs to lose in order for the other team to advance.
