The boys wrestling team has had their fair share of wins and losses over the course of the winter season, but when the postseason finally arrived, the wrestlers prepare better and more efficiently so that they can move on to the next round of the postseason.
Chase Homan, senior, wrestled in the 133 weight class and had a 3 and 0 score and placed first. Logan Warke, sophomore, went 3-1 and placed third, for his weight class. Logan thinks his performance was a great start for his postseason, and he did a very good job executing his abilities. Chase performed pretty well and he knew he went out there with full confidence and just “let it fly.” He knows he has much to work on with his shots and his wrestling IQ was used well along with his game plan. Logan needs to work on his overall strategy throughout the match so that he can be more competitive among higher level players.
Logan Warke said he is looking forward to his freestyle and Greco season so that he can compete year round in his main sport. Chase is looking forward to going to Hershey to wrestle in the States, and he wants to go out there with no regrets. He is ready to show off all the hard work that he has put in this year and past years. As the post season continues for Hamburg wrestlers, make sure to cheer them on.
