The first dance competition of the season for Dance Pointe Studio is coming up during the last weekend of March. True Talent, which will be held in Scranton, PA. We have attended this competition in years past, but never in Scranton, so this will be a bit different for us dancers.
This time of year at the studio is very crazy because we are in crunch time to get all of our dances done and ready to perform and judged. Many are in the studio four-five days a week practicing, putting in extra time to make sure our dances are very well put together and that anything that would need to be fixed gets worked out. Our studio is taking many dances to competition including a production number and many dances with insane lifts. We hope to make not only ourselves proud, but also everyone who watches us. These competitions can be a little nerve racking depending on how many studios are there, but we need to remember to not think of that and to stay positive.
Many of us will also have a solo(s) at competition this year including myself, Ava Thorne, Charlotte Fiscus, Thomas Johnson, Mackenzie Carmelo, Emma Moylan, Lily Parr, and Mailie Bentz. We are all doing various styles including Lyrical, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, Open, and many more. There are some duos and trios going to competition this year including a duo with Charlotte and Ava. Overall, our studio is ready to compete and look forward to getting to show off all of our hard work and effort that we have put in over the last few months.
