February represents the month of flowers, feelings, and of course, chocolate, so Hamburg Area High School focused on what mattered most: asking the students which Valentine’s Day chocolate is worthy of the crown.
According to a Google form sent out to each grade, ranging from freshmen to seniors, 47.1% of students chose classic milk chocolate as their overall favorite. Impossible to hate, milk chocolate has proved that simple still has potential to win. However, the race for second place was far closer than initially expected, with dark chocolate following directly over with 23.5%, showing that the bittersweet chocolate has more fans than thought. Caramel chocolate took third place at 17.6%, which proves that the gooey centers of this chocolate still are eligible for strong support.
Finally, white chocolate came in last at 5.9%, which is making white chocolate the most controversial and least selected option of the bunch. Some students also admitted that they could not simply choose just one chocolate, overall preferring a mix of milk, dark, and caramel instead. However, one thing has become evident through the results of the survey, whether it is choosing to be loyal to the simplistic classic or branching out into something more variety-oriented, Hamburg Area High School can mutually agree that chocolate, as a whole, is still the real star of Valentine’s Day, and not much can say otherwise.
