Every year on April 22, people around the world celebrate Earth Day, a day dedicated to making the Earth a better and cleaner place. From cleaning parks to just telling a close friend about Earth Day can make a difference.
April 22, 1970 was the first ever Earth Day, 20 million people came to rally after the 1969 Santa Barbara oil spill. Ever since then Earth Day just stuck with the American people and moved all over the world.
Earthday.org says that it only takes one person to start the change of a cleaner Earth for other people to start joining. That same organization tries to make Earth Day gatherings around the world so everyone can celebrate like they did in 1970. If students want to join in the celebrations here are some great ways!
Contributing to clean parks, beaches, and other natural resources is one of the most popular ways to celebrate Earth Day.
Educating friends and family about the importance of the Earth and why it is so important to keep it clean is one of the easiest ways to contribute to Earth Day.
Enjoying nature by hiking, gardening, or anything outside to show how much people celebrate the Earth and its glory.
Cheyenne Kline on Earth Day tries to go on walks and look at nature to appreciate the Earth.
