Kaylea Detweiler is a junior student who has a busy schedule and stays involved in many school activities. Most mornings, she starts her day by waking up and going to Dunkin’. Her usual order is an iced Dunkalatte with six caramel and extra sugar, which helps her feel ready for the day. After that, she heads to school and gets started with her classes.
During the school day, Kaylea always makes class time a priority. Her favorite class is Publications because it is calm and gives her time in the morning to recollect herself and slowly get into the day. She likes that the class is more relaxed and helps her feel organized and focused before moving on to her other classes.
Outside of class, Kaylea is very involved at school. She is part of STUCO and is a school board representative, which allows her to be more involved in school decisions. Kaylea also plays basketball and spends time at practice, showing her dedication to the sport. After school, she often goes to practice or straight to work at either McDonald’s or Hazels Coffee on Fourth Street, balancing everything the best she can.
Overall, Kaylea does a good job managing her time and staying involved. Between school, sports, work, and leadership roles, she stays busy while still keeping her priorities in order. She says “You are only in high school once, do not waste your time!”
