It is always nice to remind people to be grateful for what they have in life. There are those around the world who struggle to make a living every day. Sometimes people need major help to get by the day, and other times it can be something simple to motivate others. Donations all around the world can be something to help out individuals just a little every day.
Mrs. McCarthy who is the librarian for HAHS, the teacher for publications, the HEP teacher, and also runs the LEO club (Leadership, Opportunity, and Experience). The LEO club is a large group of students who participate to help out the community in various ways. The number of students who actually participate in this club and just do a little more every day can make a huge impact on people. There are always these little things to do in the LEO club to spread kindness and joy around the community, even if it is just selling cotton candy for people to eat. There is a wide variety of ranges to pick out how to impact the community and make it a better place. The LEO club is not all about money; it is about providing service to people for the spirit. As Mrs. McCarthy discussed, “We want everyone to enjoy what we try to do for the community.”
Bethany Stufflet, a senior who is secretary of the LEO Club and the NHS (National Honor Society). The NHS recognizes the top students in high school who have scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These students also provide help with community involvement. This may include fundraising and leadership conferences as well. Bethany is the president of NHS and may also help with some of the decisions made. She has always tried to be involved, and it makes her feel good about helping out people. As Stufflet brought up, “I like to help out people all the time and to be kind.” Fundraising and donations can make a big difference in the world, even if it is not just money.
