Thanksgiving is a time of giving back to people. Whether that is verbally or physically giving something. Giving back is as simple as just saying thank you to people for what they do. For some at times, though, it can be hard to show thanks to people, or some just are not used to it. Thanksgiving is a really important holiday. It helps people have joy when the weather is getting colder, and people’s moods are bad. Either way, during festive times, you should show people that you are thankful for them, because a little thanks goes a long way.
Freshman Mason Vellila is thankful for his family, friends, and pets. He is thankful for those things because they help him through the day, even if they can be annoying at times. He shows thankfulness to them by showing them love when he sees them.
Another freshman, Clayton Verrastro, says that he is thankful for his mom. He is thankful for her because she helps him out all the time, especially when he is sick. He shows thankfulness to her by showing her love when he sees her, and by cooking for her sometimes.
Even if your thankful for different things than other people, it is still important to show thankfulness, even if it seems weird to. Thankfulness is important to show because everyone has bad days sometimes, and some people might need a boost to their day. Kindness can help others it obviously makes others feel better, but it can even help yourself. Kindness can make yourself feel better too. Sometimes it feels good to make someone’s day better. Thanksgiving has a much different history, though. Thanksgiving was made by the Pilgrims to celebrate a successful harvest in 1621. It was only made a national holiday in 1863 by President Lincoln.
