Teachers Favorite Thanksgiving Traditions

As we kick off this holiday season, the student body would like to get to know our staff a little more. Thanksgiving is coming up and we all have our favorite traditions. Hamburg Area High School’s teachers shared what their favorite Thanksgiving traditions are. This includes their family, personal, and their favorite traditions.
Mrs. Benvenuto teaches Honors Civics and Global Studies. She also is the freshman class advisor. During the Thanksgiving holiday her favorite traditions include making pies on the day before Thanksgiving with her inlaws. A fun thing they do with the pies is they get a leaf from outside and wash it. They trace out the leaf on extra pie crust and put it on top of the pie. They also play “Turkey Bingo.” She gets fun gifts, wraps them in fall wrapping paper, and they play bingo to win gifts! While the pies are cooking they watch Gone with the Wind. She also goes to three different Thanksgivings. She also wants to make new traditions with her child, Penelope.
