The Hawks boys wrestling team is gearing up for an exciting season as they look ahead to upcoming tournaments and matches.
Returning varsity wrestler Logan said he is especially excited for the Bloomsburg Tournament and the county meet. “The Bloomsburg tournament is great to test the hard work people put in during the offseason,” he said. “County’s is a very intense and fun tournament.” Logan also shared how he prepares before a big match, “I usually hype myself up to the point where I’m only focused on the sport and nothing else.” His goals for the season include earning a spot at states or winning an all-county title. “I like to represent my school to show that I’m capable of being physically and mentally prepared for anything that comes my way,” he added.
The incoming wrestler, Preston Jones, is also eager for the season to begin. “I’m most excited for the first match because it’s going to be fun to finally compete again,” he said. He admitted that maintaining weight and earning a varsity spot will be challenging, but he is ready for them. “I’m nervous but excited, it’s a big step up from middle school, but I’m ready to give it my best.”
With their motivation and determination, the Hawks are ready to take on a strong wrestling season and make their school proud.
