The first quarter has officially ended with three more left to go of the school year. With the second quarter now started, this is a chance to have a brand new, fresh start. This could be based on grades, sports, or just even becoming a better person each and everyday. There is always time to make a change and that can happen with this new quarter.
A freshman student, Leo LaVentura brings up how he would not mind keeping his grades the same as quarter one, maybe even a bit better. He felt proud for doing so well, even when school became a bit challenging. “I would really like to become more involved with my clubs and sports,” LaVentura explains. He mentions that he is looking forward to participating in volunteering for clubs. It was a new experience he wanted to give a shot at, and it seems to be an interest for him. During the second quarter, LaVentura wants to keep practicing for tennis, even though there is still some waiting to do, he is thrilled. “I know that tennis is still coming ahead, but I am going to keep preparing until the season is here and I am finally ready,” LaVentura declared.
Chase Homan is a senior who has had many thoughts for the second quarter. Winter sports are coming up shortly, and Chase has set his mind towards wrestling season. He is ready to stay focused and keep his mind only on this sport. Homan reflects back to his season last year that got really messy. “I want to prevent becoming injured this year and actually get enough time to go on the mat,” Homan expresses. He has his eyes set on qualifying for the PIAA State Wrestling Tournament for the fourth year in a row. In addition to having expectations for wrestling, Homan feels it is important to keep his grades up as well. While being a student athlete, being a student always comes first.
