On December 5, from 6-10 pm, Hamburg’s student council will be hosting its annual holiday dance at CJ Hummels. Tickets will be on sale from October 27 to November 7, in between both cafeterias. Students will need to provide $30, a parent or guardian’s phone number, and their name. Guest forms were currently collected from October 13 to October 24, to bring outside guests under 21 to the dance.
Sophomore Kaleigh Phillips is currently in charge of that chair position in STUCO. She informed me that the theme is Winter Wonderland, so the main colors are blue and white with tons of sparkles and lights. The food that will be served is chicken, penne alfredo, broccoli, apple sauce, and mashed potatoes; drinks will also be available throughout the night. Along with food, favors will be given out before guests leave. Currently, the biggest issue that comes with the dance is the worry that not all of the decorations will get done in time. Kaleigh’s favorite thing about planning the dance is knowing that in the end, it will come together and everybody will enjoy it. She also wants to say that, “Everyone should come out and have a great time! A lot of effort has gone into making it special.”
Other students like Bethany Stufflet and Rylee Strunk, two students who both intend to attend the dance, are also excited. Bethany had to fill out a guest form for her date and thinks that they were simple to fill out. Her plan for her dress is to buy one at the beginning of November that is black or red. Rylee, on the other hand, did not have to fill out a guest form, but she is excited to go. She already purchased a dress later in the fall, so she is ahead of the game. Overall, both students are looking forward to the dance and to seeing what everything will look like in the end.
