Fall sports are some people’s favorite sports. Getting to play in the sport that everyone loves and perhaps going to college to play. But for some, fall sports can be a hassle. All of the summer practices can take up time that people could use to hangout with friends and have a fun time while school is out. Some athletes would rather go to practices to get a good word in with the coach. Either way fall sports are a great experience for everyone that plays.
One freshman, Phalene Hoppes, plays girls soccer which is a fall sport. She said that it went very well and she turned out very happy with the players and how the season went. She plans on playing girls basketball for a winter sport. She hopes that the season goes well and they have a winning season.
Another fall sports player, Leo Laventura, played boys soccer. He said that it went pretty well for him, and they did not get too many wins, but it was fun to hang out with everyone and meet new people while playing. He also said football games were fun to go to. He said that he does not plan on playing a winter sport.
One great experience of high school are the football games. Almost everyone enjoys going to a high school football game. They are a great place to hangout with friends and support school spirit and the football team. Even if the home team loses, it still is very fun and a fun way to spend your Friday night. Even though the football games are fun, that is not the only one that is fun to watch. All sports can be fun to watch even if you do not like the sport itself. Other fall sports besides football and soccer are field hockey, golf, cheerleading, and cross country.
With fall sports wrapping up, that means that winter sports are starting. Winter sports are a great way to stay active while it gets colder outside. Even though they are played indoors, they are still very fun and productive. The list of winter sports that Hamburg offers is basketball, bowling, winter track, bocce, wrestling, and winter cheerleading.
