Students at Hamburg Area High School have very diverse opinions about decorations for Halloween. The majority of the students reported that they do, in fact, decorate their own homes for Halloween. There was only a few students sometimes decorating, and occasionally someone who does not decorate. Nobody had harsh opinions on whether Halloween decorations should be kept inside, with students stating that it either did not matter or both were okay.
The students like to see all kinds of different decorations. Mason Velilla stated his favorite, “The really big skeletons positioned in funny ways.” Other students’ favorites were carved pumpkins, inflatables, spiders, spider webs, and Halloween lights. The majority of students said that the school should be more decorated for Halloween, while others said otherwise.
There is a fall decorating contest at the high school from October 23 to November 6. The doors should include hawk spirit, “Marry Poppins” theme, and creativity. The top three winners get donuts as a reward to their homeroom, with first place getting a trophy and bragging rights. Themes include “Anything can happen” “A spoon full of sugar…” and “Lets go fly a kite.”
The students at Hamburg Area High School have some very controversial opinions, but they do agree on some topics. Students like to see all types of Halloween decorations and think the high school needs more spooky decor.
