On Sunday, February 11, the 58th annual Super Bowl will be held in the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, and the two teams who will compete head to head to win are the returning champions the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. The Chiefs have won three Super Bowls and are ready to get their fourth. The 49ers are ahead of the Chiefs with five Super Bowl victories. Both teams are ready to face each other in the major event.
The Kansas City Chiefs have had an incredible season with 11 wins, 6 loses, and 0 ties, putting them first in the AFC (American Football Conference) West. Andy Reid, the head coach for the Chiefs, is ready to get his third Super Bowl victory as the Chiefs head coach. The two most well-known players on the Chiefs are their star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and their tight end Travis Kelce. Isiah Pacheco is leading the Chiefs in touchdowns with 12.
The Chiefs are not the only ones ready to take on Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers have been waiting for their redemption since the 2020 Super Bowl when they lost by 11 points. The head coach for the 49ers, Kyle Shanahan, is positive that the 57th Super Bowl is when he will get his first win for them. Brock Purdy, their quarterback, has been working hard at practice and has been waiting for this moment this whole season. The teams starting running back Christian McCaffrey said “I knew from the start we were making it to the Super Bowl,” and he hopes to not only be in the Super Bowl but to win it.
The student’s gave their predictions and 75 percent of the students said they would like the 49ers to win this year. A lot of the votes towards the 49ers were because of there being what is called a “Taylor Swift Super Bowl”, a lot of suspicion has been going on that the Super Bowl was rigged this year so Taylor Swift would get her big moment at the Super Bowl. Although Taylor Swift is having a concert in Japan just two days before the Super Bowl, a lot of people have suspicions that she will make an appearance at the halftime show. Whether that is true or not the person who is surely going to be singing at the halftime show is Grammy-winner Usher. Sunday will surely be an interesting night, and not one to miss, so grab friends, drinks, and food because the Super Bowl is ready to erupt.
