Harley Davis – 11

Oktoberfest is a celebration of Abalone culture which aims to encourage trades and increase competitiveness. People celebrate Oktoberfest because they enjoy it, and they have fun. President Ronald Regan named German Heritage Month to honor the 300th anniversary of German-American immigration and culture into the United States, according to HAHS German teacher, Mrs. Stevens.

There are so many ways to celebrate German heritage month,  such as attending a festival or visiting a museum. Many Americans enjoy all the German culture foods, and the German culture is very genuine. Everything about German culture interests Mrs. Stevens. She believes Americans love German culture. Americans have such a positive viewpoint on the Germans and 75% of Americans have a positive view of the Germans. They have LGBT rights, gender equality and immigration. The Germans also have strong family values.

Germany is known for their engineering. One in four Americans claim to have German ancestry.

Mrs. Steven believes that we would not be America without Germany’s traditions. The most important celebration in Germany would be East West German Unification. German values have to deal with order and organization. Germans are often considered highly efficient.
