Tristin Fajna – 9
As the end of the year approaches, students feel a mix of excitement and pressure. The end of the year can bring freedom in summer break, no school, and relaxation. But before that, the school year has to be wrapped up. The end of the year means tests, big projects, and the final stretch of work. The question is whether students are prepared or not.
Some students have already started preparing. Staying organized during the final quarter means staying up to date on assignments and managing work. Their good and consistent habits keep them on track. However, not everyone stays on track like them. Either way, students should do what helps them the most.
Some find themselves overwhelmed as deadlines come. Procrastination, missing work, and stress over tests can especially make this time challenging. Some teachers increase workloads so they can wrap up curriculums, which can add to students’ pressure. For these students, it can make the end of the year feel less like a finish line and more like a race with time.
Freshman Mason Velilla feels as if he is prepared for the end of the year, because usually not much happens to him near the end of the year. He feels like his year has been successful so far, but his habit of procrastinating on assignments has not been successful. The time he turns in assignments changed this year, albeit only by a little.
Freshman Phalene Hoppes feels as if she is prepared for the end of the year. She thinks the first three quarters went very well for her, so she is focused and thinks she can finish the year phenomenally. She thinks she has been successful so far this year since she only had 3 B’s in total, and would love to keep it that way. Sports were successful for her, and she transitioned and thrived in them more than she thought she would. During the year, she changed by focusing on “locking in” with her work in Civics and English since they were her weakest subjects.
