Take Your Kid to Work Day is a country-wide event that is taking place on April 23 of this year. As the name says, this national day allows people to show their kids what they do for a living, and potentially encourage them to do the same thing. This is how our school staff celebrates this day at Hamburg Area High School.
Mrs. McCarthy is unsure if she will be able to bring her grandchildren this year. However, years before, she brought her grandson Preston, who is a first grader at Whitehall Elementary, and her granddaughter Hailey, who was a third grader at the same school district the last time she took them to the school. The two had fun the previous year they went, as they enjoyed seeing what their mimi and grandpa did everyday, and they also enjoyed it due to the fun activities that were set up. The events the grandson and granddaughter did being a science experiment, an art project, career explorations, and story time. Mrs. McCarthy’s main goal with bringing her grandchildren to school was to show them that teaching is a fun profession.
Mrs. Trubilla plans to bring her daughter Charlotte, who is eight years old, and in second grade. Charlotte has reportedly come the previous two years and has loved it each time, since she enjoys the furniture around the place and how the classes are easily turned into rooms. She also enjoys how since Mrs. Trubilla is in charge; that also means that Charlotte is also in charge. When Charlotte has went to the high school, she made a video in the TV studio, also made an art project with Mrs. Dommel, planted some seeds with Mr. Meyers, and played the piano with Mrs. Jackson. Mrs. Trubilla stated that her main goal with bringing her daughter was to have her love school and show that learning can be fun, since it can help pull something out of the school days that are either hard or annoying.
