The 2026 Pennsylvania Farm Show took place from January 10–17 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. The event’s theme, “Growing a Nation,” celebrates Pennsylvania’s deep agricultural history and its role in shaping the country’s future. General admission to the Farm Show is free, but parking for attendees costs $15 per car. “I went to the Farm Show when I was little, but now that I’m in school and busy on the weekends, I can’t really go anymore.”
Some students, however, make the Farm Show a yearly tradition. “I’ve gone to the Farm Show almost every year, only missing it because of Band Fest. I always look forward to going and seeing new things,” said Phalene Hoppes. Each year, the Farm Show offers new exhibits, competitions, and displays that keep it exciting for returning visitors and give them something different to experience each time.
In 2026, the Farm Show includes a wide range of attractions such as livestock shows, agricultural exhibits, interactive displays, and demonstrations of modern farming practices. Visitors can see animals like cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, poultry, and horses, as well as learn about advances in farming technology and equipment. “I’ve never been to the Farm Show, but I would really like to see some of the new technology and tools farmers use today,” said Mr. Lowe. These displays show how agriculture continues to evolve through innovation.
For students involved in the Hamburg Area High School Ag Club, the Farm Show is a special opportunity to explore agriculture firsthand. Members can learn about the latest equipment and farming techniques, discover colleges with agricultural programs, attend educational demonstrations, and see competitions up close. Students also enjoy visiting vendor stands and trying the food and milkshakes the event is famous for. The PA Farm Show gives Hamburg Area High School Ag Club members a hands-on look at where their food comes from and the work that goes into farming across the state.
