On December 1st, I was able to experience my last trip to college, this one being Millersville University. This University is an hour and 30 minutes South of Hamburg near the Maryland border. For this college, I left roughly around 9 am. The trip was familiar because I have been to this college before.
Of course, like my other college visits, the visit first began with a presentation talking about things like how college dorms looked, the classroom size and the kinds of activities a person can find around campus, such as clubs. On top of this, I also learned that first year students don’t get the work on their schedules. As their year goes on however, they will be able to make up their schedules. The presentation has also talked about how much money people would need to pay in order to go to this school. For Pennsylvanians, the cost of attendance would be $24,518. Because Millersville borders Maryland, they have different prices for going to this college for locals to people from Maryland.
After the presentation, we were able to get a full tour of the campus. First, I learned that Millersville is very eco-friendly and uses recycled materials for most of their items, such as the outdoor chairs scattered around the campus. Second, we were able to see where all of the majors are able to learn at. For example, the agriculture classes take care of rats and at the end of the year, they get to adopt the rats if they can. We were also able to see the highlight of the campus, being the lake. They have a few ducks and two swans that live on campus.
For those who are looking for a large campus but want fun things to do in a major, I would suggest Millersville. For more information, visit https://www.millersville.edu/.
