Lilly Gibson is currently a junior in Hamburg Area High school. She is in many activities inside and outside of school. Lilly has been doing student council since grade 9, last year she got a job as a fashion associate at Walmart, and she is a part of several music related organizations like choir, trebles, and music production. Lilly is currently the assistant stage manager for this years: Mary Poppins. For the next musical, she will be the stage manager. Lilly has been in stage crew since grade 9 and has worked hard for her position. When asked how she manages it all she responded, “I’m not really sure. I think a lot of it comes from my great-grandmother, Lena, who was and still is my hero. She was able to deal with too much, but never let that affect her day or how she felt.”
Lilly Gibson has four pets. Her dog, Alfred, and two cats, Zoomie and Bean, are all rescued. She adopted her dog, Heidi, from her uncle in West Virginia since the Pennsylvanian weather was better for her breed. Lilly is also originally from West Virginia, moving to Pennsylvania when she was very young. She has a younger brother who she loves dearly and is currently a football player. When asked about him she says, “I love my little brother, I truly think I was put onto this Earth to be his older sister and care for him.”
Lilly aspires to be an English teacher. “I wasn’t too sure what I wanted to be but I was inspired by one of my teachers. She just made me come out of my shell and become confident in English.” Lilly is currently a TA for Mrs. Texter in the English wing. She enjoyed how it is preparing her for her future career.
Some favorites of Lilly are peppersteak, banana pudding, The color raspberry, and artists: Arctic Monkeys, Paramore, and Gorillaz. Her favorite song is Knee socks by Arctic Monkeys.
Lilly has a busy schedule, but she still finds time to hang out with friends and miraculously manages it all. Lilly’s advice to anyone reading is, “Just keep going. I know that things can get stressful, but 30 years from now, you will be glad you were able to struggle through whatever battle youŕe facing right now.”
