This is Mr. Haegele’s fifth year teaching at the Hamburg Area High School. Before teaching here Haegele taught at a school in Philadelphia for four years where he taught social studies. He started off with teaching social studies and then switched to english and is now back to teaching social studies and military history classes.
He also coaches high school sports such as track and wrestling where he has led many students to success as well as coaching junior high football for one season.
Haegele is also involved in other school activities, for example he started the car show and also helps with Java Jam, these are two very popular events.
Outside of school Mr. Haegele is taking college courses to be a counselor and will be graduating this upcoming year.
Mr. Haegele’s favorite part of teaching here is all the flexibility. For example, he likes how teachers can bring up any idea that they may have and they will always consider it. He also likes the culture at Hamburg and just likes getting involved and giving kids amazing opportunities.
Principal McGinley stated that Mr. Haegele is a very solid and strong teacher as well as being very skilled when delivering his content. He says that he has a good connection with his students and that he builds good relationships with them to get the most out of them. McGinley also stated that he sets very clear expectations on how he wants everything to work. He has been a coach, an advisor, and is pursuing a degree in counseling which shows his dedication to our district and our student body.
In conclusion, Mr. Haegele is a very important person here at Hamburg Area High school. He helps out with many fundraisers and after school activities.
