Prom is nearing, and promposal season is leaving single attendees to wonder who they will bring. Juniors and seniors have the opportunity to bring a plus one to prom, even if they are from another school. Some go with their dates and make the night romantic, while others choose to go with friends and have fun. To see which side is more popular, a few upperclassmen shared who they will share prom with.

Kayla Kehl, junior, shared who she will be taking to her first ever prom. “I’m bringing a friend to prom because I would rather have a friend than a date. I can have more fun.” Prom is generally seen as a romantic night to those who bring dates, whereas those who bring friends are just there to enjoy the party. Madilyn Kauffman, senior, shared, “I’ve been to one prom previously. I went with my friends last year. I’m bringing my boyfriend this year.” Showing how starting a relationship could alter who is brought to prom and why. People in relationships are usually expected to bring their date over a friend.

Upperclassmen are welcome to bring whomever they want to this year’s prom, friend or partners. The main goal is to enjoy the music, dancing, and food.
