This is Mrs. Herman’s 26th year teaching here at HAHS. She taught at Reading Central Catholic for four years as well. Mrs. Herman loves teaching and also loves math very much. She stated “Math is in my blood.” Her dad was also a math teacher and she had him as a teacher in 9th grade. When she was in school she loved math and English class.

Mrs. Herman has five brothers that work in the math field. One sister works as a 2nd grade math teacher and another sister works in emotional support for an intermediate unit.

Working with students and getting to know them and their personality is what Mrs. Herman enjoys most. She likes that HAHS is a small enough school that she can get to know many people and loves working with the other staff.

She and her husband of 26 years have three boys and have a dog named Louie. She went to DeSales University for her Bachelors Degree and for her Masters Degree. A bunch of staff members here at HAHS put chipmunks all around her classroom for her 50th birthday. She loves to spend time with her family, cook, garden, and exercise.

I have Mrs. Herman for math class, and she is one of the best math teachers I have personally ever had. She will always helps me when I have a question and she will help students in flex if needed. She is very organized and it helps us students be organized also. Mrs. Herman has a piece of advice to anyone who is struggling with math: “Not everyone is born to be good at every subject, but listening and persevering always pay off in the end.”
