Hamburg Hooligans was formed a while ago by a couple of students from Hamburg that wanted to show some school pride at football games. After awhile though the Hooligans began to fall apart and did not sit in the student section anymore. Makayla Baessler the unofficial restarter of the Hamburg Hooligans has now taken notice of it, and has tried to interact with students. Students can now sit in the official student section and cheer along with the band. Makayla stated, “the student section is there to get students excited for the game.”
    While learning more about Hamburg Hooligans, I found out that many students enjoyed being a part of school pride again. Makayla not only included other students in her show of pride, also sitting next to the band has also gotten them into school spirit. This show of pride allows for the students to be more encouraging of the players, and gives the players a boost of confidence. Players are now reassured that not just their family but also their friends enjoy the games, along with the effort they put into it.
    Although the Hooligans have only been around for a couple of football games. Last game most of the students sat in the proper section and showed some real pride. The Hamburg Hooligans are now a functional group with approval from Mr. Menapace and Mr. Kline, Hamburg area High has finally gotten a new look of pride with students filled with joy to flash some red and white at the football games!
