People have been following fashion trends since the beginning of time, whether it was corsets, hair styles, or brand clothing. It is very common among teenagers to follow fashion trends ranging from the cutest water bottle to the best makeup brands to the most comfortable pairs of shoes. One of the latest fashion trends includes UGGs.They were invented by Brian Smith, an Australian who moved to California and have been around for 45 years and have had several popularity spikes throughout the years.
UGGs come in many forms. There are UGG slippers, UGG boots, UGG platforms, and many more. UGGs have been common for many years but seem to be making a comeback among the younger generations. It was on many young girls’ Christmas lists and birthday wishes. The cost of the shoes ranges from $80 to over $200. The cheaper ones are mainly the slipper style UGGs while the more expensive ones are the more heavy duty boot type UGGs.
One of the reasons UGGs are so popular is because of how comfortable they are. On the inside is a furry type of material that keeps the wearer’s feet very warm throughout the day while the outside is made from a sheepskin material. “At first they were itchy and I was confused, but eventually they weren’t so I guess they just had to get used to my feet,” Freshman Chesley Oviedo shares. Chelsey asked for UGGs for Christmas and her parents obliged. Chelsey got hazelnut Tasman UGG slippers and wears them many days throughout the week. “Honestly they look good with any outfit. If you put UGGs on, you’re good.” Chelsey states. Chelsey also believes that UGGs can also go with any season or weather, “People say don’t get them wet, but I get them wet and they’re fine.” Since they keep the wearer’s feet so warm, they would probably be best worn inside during the summer seasons. They can still be worn out, of course, but certain shoes might be better for the summer. For instance, the boots would probably not be best for the hotter months, but the slippers could definitely be a stylish shoe choice for any outfit during any season.
Student Kaylea Detweiler has two pairs of UGGs. “I have two pairs of hazelnut UGGs (Tasman and Scuffette house slippers).” Kaylea has a very diverse shoe collection and absolutely adores her UGGs, “I wear my other shoes maybe once per week, but I’ll wear my UGGs however many times I feel like wearing them,” Kaylea states, “Getting UGGs was the best decision I ever made. I would highly recommend getting them if you’re thinking about it.” UGGs are a comfortable shoe made for any occasion. Though they can be a bit pricey, they are a good investment and worth saving up for.
