Preparing for next year’s yearbook

Grace Cromyak, Hawk Happenings Assistant Editor

High school yearbooks are a way of remembering the good times others had in high school and all of the memories they can never forget. In yearbook clubs, or in this case our Publications class, the students ensure that everything in the yearbook is perfect to send out and share with the whole school.
Each student in Publications has a designated job; Pinnacle Senior Editors, Pinnacle Student Life Editors, Pinnacle Faculty/Staff Editors, Pinnacle Clubs Editors, Pinnacle Sports Editors, Business Managers, and Senior Memory Page Editors. Everyone has a specific template for each page in the yearbook and each job like the Pinnacle Faculty/Staff Editors, they have a template provided for them already. This helps because there is a specific way that the Faculty pages must be laid out.
All the yearbooks that have been made have a theme, last year’s yearbook was a relaxation/beach theme. Each page was designed to match the theme, with seashells, coral, waves of the ocean, etc. Isabella Forte sophomore stated, “I did senior memory pages and senior head pages. I liked doing the senior head pages because it was pretty easy and everything was kind of just there since it was in a template. I also liked doing the senior memory pages because I could use my own creativity and the parents just gave me requirements for what they wanted on their senior’s page.”
The yearbooks are sort of like a sequence, deciding the theme, matching/correlating each page with the theme, and making sure everything is set in the right order with all the pages. Each year the publications students surprise other students with their creativity for every yearbook, and by continuing to impress everyone each year, we can surely make the yearbook a good way to never forget unforgotten high school memories.
In addition to all the things involved with the yearbook, we can announce that our school’s yearbook is completed and the deliveries will be arriving in mid-May and our supplement pages will be added to our yearbook approximately next school year since they are not quite completed yet.
