Students’ Valentine’s Day surprises

Students’ Valentine’s Day surprises

Valentine’s Day is here and many students are excited to celebrate with their significant others and their friends. Many clubs and groups are fundraising during this holiday as well. The LEO Club is selling silk flowers, the freshman class is selling heart locker decorations, and Aerial Boundaries is selling singing grams. All are perfect and inexpensive gifts someone could get for their special someone or even just to show those around them that they appreciate them.

Freshman Kaylea Detweiler says, “I am so excited for Valentine’s Day, I think it’s the cutest holiday ever. Like everyone thinks it’s just for boyfriends and stuff but I love doing stuff with my friends, too!” This year, Kaylea is hoping to have a nice dinner with her friends for Valentine’s Day. “Obviously we can’t do it on the actual day because it’s in the middle of the week, but we’re hoping to do it that weekend.” Kaylea is thinking about going to Olive Garden with three or four of her close friends.

Junior Madison Redding plans on having a “Galentine’s Day” with her friends. They are all going to go over to her house the weekend after, as well. They plan on having fun Valentine’s Day treats and hanging out a majority of the day. Even though it is called “Galentine’s Day” there will be just a few close guy friends but maybe girls.

Even though Valentine’s Day is mainly advertised as a holiday for couples, it is also a great time to show others including friends, family, pets, or significant others that they are also loved.
