Hamburg snows over for the New Year

On January 7, 2024 the Berks County area had their first snowfall. Many places got at least two inches of snow, however in Hamburg there was approximately four inches of snow. This may seem like a lot however Lyons had the most snow with six inches of snow in just one day. The snow did not seem to last though, as it melted pretty quickly within the next day or two. That snow precipitation then just turned into rain and made some people question whether or not school would be delayed for flooding or icy roads. However, this was not the case. Hamburg also got another snowstorm on January 15, which caused HAHS to go virtual on January 16. For many people in the Hamburg area, they may have had to shovel twice that day due to how much it snowed. I know for my family, my dad shoveled twice in one day.
