Mr. Borger has taken his upper level woodworking class and went to Bailey’s Wood Products in Kempton. Wood Products is a lumberyard where HAHS select and buy wood. There are over 20 different products of wood that they sell. Mr. Borger gets wood from Bailey’s and when he takes his upper level woodworking classes he gets wood for projects all year round. 

     He brings the students so they can pick out their own type of wood that they would like to use in order to make their custom projects. The students learned how lumber is made from timber. They had to move lumber but there were splinters, that was not their favorite part of the trip but overall they enjoyed the trip. 

     Mr. Borger talked about his favorite part of the trip and it was watching the students getting excited about making a custom project and picking out their favorite wood. Mr. Borger does this every year for his upper level class and they all enjoy it. This trip was about project planning and selecting the lumber that the students would like for their project. Students can pick the project they would like to build. That includes wall signs, cutting boards, cabinets.
