To some students, the parking lot is great. However, it has some flaws like when things start freezing in the morning but melts during the day and one part of the lot becomes a slippery mess.
Students also find some of the rules strange, such as they are not allowed to back into their parking spots. They are only supposed to pull in. This is for safety reasons and to make things easier.
Iris Stemko says, “The parking lot is decent, but when it rains, the spot towards the left of the school gets slippery because of the rain runoff and the kids walking in between cars is kinda a pain.”
When kids cut through the parking spots and pop out, student drivers have to slam on their breaks. Students do like how they let them choose their spots this year in case they do not want to park in the back with all of the trucks.
Mrs. Fink says, “We do not allow students to park in the back of the student lot due to it being the parent drop off/pick up line. We also utilize those spaces for classes to report to in case of evacuation of the high school building (such as during fire drills). Students who are drop off/pick up are directed to walk in the crosswalk at the far end of the parking lot, near Exit 5 of the high school building.”
