At the start of this school year students received new chromebooks, and they had new cases but no pockets to store pencils or the charger like they did last year. Some kids like the sleekness of them and some kids do not like the no pocket situation. The first few days walking down the hallway, I heard good things and bad things about the cases. The only reason I see for the change in cases is the new cases are more durable and less likely to get ruined by students.
Gracie Zettlmoyer shared, “I don’t like the design because it doesn’t have handles and makes carrying things a lot harder from class to class plus I cant keep extra stuff in the pocket like pencils and a calculator and even highlighters”.
Lanaija Holt shared, “It is a lot easier to carry but it does make it harder to carry other things with the new ones there’s no storage. ButI like the durability of the new ones. Plus they don’t look half bad.
Tech department said they switched the cases because they are military grade cases that go through drop tests and everything. The old cloth cases were hard to keep clean and just were not as safe because students would take them out of the bag because they were so bulky then there would be no case on them.
