Seniors look back on elementary school

Alicia Gilbert

When seniors get to the point where they are about to graduate high school, they can look back and say there are many things that helped shape them growing up, but one that nobody thinks of is elementary school. Elementary school is a great place to learn and enhance social skills as well as basic skills. Elementary is normally the first place that kids can be around a lot of kids and figure out who they like to spend their time around. Whether kids are shy or outgoing, there is somebody for everyone. Elementary school also teaches kids the basic learning skills like the alphabet and basic math. Though every kid gets taught the same things they can have very different experiences.

Kayleigh Romano is a senior at Hamburg and  expresses that elementary school was a very important part of her life because it helped shape who she has become today. Kayleigh describes herself past self as a shy little girl and going into elementary school she realized that she is shy but once she can trust somebody she turns into a hyper and loud person. Kayleigh was helped realize this by her first grade class. Kayleigh now plans on going to RACC for two years then will be moving to Kutztown to study education.
