On the first day of Spring of every year, which this year was on Monday, March 20, Rita’s Italian Ice all over America gives free small ice to any customers that show up. They offer their daily flavors to all customers. If any customers want a topping, they can add one or more for $1.50 each. High schoolers Bethany Stufflet and Alondra Perez both went and claimed their free ice that day. 

     Bethany Stufflet stayed after school that Monday with her and one of her friends to enjoy free ice. She and her friend both got Swedish Fish ices. This was her first time she ever experienced free ice on the first day of spring. She hopes that she will be able to continue this idea of going to Ritas once a year with her friends for free ice to enjoy the nice temperatures. 

     Alondra Perez, another student, enjoyed a coconut ice with her mom. She and her mom took a trip to Rita’s to visit her older sister who works there. She hopes that she will also be able to go back next year to claim another free ice. 

     Both of these students had an enjoyable time claiming their free ice at their local Rita’s. Having a day like this at a local place is a great way for students, friends, and families to enjoy a nice time together by having a small snack. Rita’s also has a decent variety of different flavors that change over time which fit the needs of everybody’s different likings.
