Teacher’s spotlight: Ms. Reppert

Danelle Wollyung

Ms. Reppert is a Spanish teacher at HAHS in addition to being Spanish Club advisor and Junior Class advisor. Before she became a teacher, she went to college at Slippery Rock University and got her Bachelor’s of Science with a specialization in Spanish. She also went to Kutztown University where she got her Masters in Curriculum Instruction. Another college she attended was University of Cincinnati where she got her masters in Administration.

She has been teaching for 30 years but only 25 years at Hamburg. She taught five years in the south. One year in South Carolina and four years in Virginia. Her favorite part about teaching is that everyday there is something new, and she loves bringing the Spanish culture to her students. Her least favorite part is all the paperwork she has to do. She really enjoys teaching and watching students achieve their goals.

For Ms. Reppert it was not hard adjusting to Hamburg because she went to school here and graduated in 1988. At the school she used to teach it was the same in most ways but there they took students on trips to Spanish speaking countries. A way it was different in Virginia is they had county schools. So each county had one school district. She taught in Caroline County.

Some fun facts about her are that she owns horses and loves to horseback ride and also loves going to PSU football and ice hockey games.

In five years she would like to retire and enjoy herself by traveling and hopefully go to a College Bowl game where PSU is playing.
