Book review: Eat That Frog!

Riley Mohn

Eat That Frog! by Brian Tracy was published in 2001. Brian Tracy is the top selling author of over 70 books. He has traveled to 107 countries, on six contitnents. Eat That Frog! is a self-help book that shows ways to stop procrastinating and easier ways to complete tasks. The book states “Your ‘frog’ is your biggest, most important task, the one you are most likely to procrastinate on if you don’t do something about it now.” The book talks about ‘eating the largest, most disgusting frog’ first, then eating smaller ones if there is room for them. The most disgusting frog represents a larger, more difficult task, whereas the smaller frogs respresent little tasks that don’t help as much and will take less time.

The book also includes other ways to stop procrastinating, and it talks about the importance of getting work done. A different way to stop procrastinating is to apply the ’80/20′ rule. As the book says, “20 percent of your activities will account for 80 percent of your results, 20 percent of your customers will account for 80 percent of your sales.”
