Teacher spotlight Mrs. Herber

 Mrs. Herber has been a Special Education teacher at HAHS since 2019. She went to PACE Institute for an Associate Degree in Business Management, Alvernia University for Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education, and Wilkes University for a Master’s degree in Education. 

     Before teaching at Hamburg, she taught at another district and she has been at Hamburg for five years. A position became available after her youngest son graduated in 2018. She always had a special place in her heart for students with disabilities. Mrs. Herber says “ There is no job that is as rewarding as hers.” 

     Mrs. Herber was born and raised in Hamburg. She graduated from Hamburg in 1990, she said “ It was strange when first starting…. Like walking the halls that she once walked. Things are somewhat different like classes.” Her classroom used to be the old Home Ec. room. She likes to cook even though she is not a baker but still likes making new things to try, do crafts like making homemade ornaments and wreaths, camping, kayaking, fishing, and spending time with her family. 

     Mrs. Herber has been married for 26 years. She has a son named Tyler who graduated from Hamburg in 2016 and a son named Logan who graduated from Hamburg in 2018. She also has two dogs named Benny and Bella.
