On Tuesday November 1, the Hamburg Jazz Band traveled to Kutztown University to learn about the different Music Programs, such as Commercial Music, Performance, Science in Music Education, and Music Business at Kutztown University. There are also programs to minor in Audio Engineering, Jazz, Music History, and Musical Theatre. Dr. Kevin Kjos, the primary organizer of the Jazz day, is the director of Jazz Studies and the director of Commercial Music Studies. While visiting the school, the students were able to tour the campus with different college students who are majoring in music as well as watch a recital of the few different music programs offered by the school. These include performances based around Jazz and Rock. The University’s Department of Music offers outstanding education for aspiring musicians while serving as a primary cultural resource for the region.
